We use an initial case assessment to understand the 

nature of the matter, identify any dispute-related or commercial exposure, and determine whether our services are appropriate.


This process allows us to provide proportionate guidance, clarify next steps, and ensure that matters are directed to the right level of support from the outset.


 OSM Solutions Ltd is not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice or carry out reserved legal activities. Where a matter requires regulated legal services, we can work alongside appropriately regulated solicitors to support coordination, documentation, and case preparation.

What the Case Assessment Covers

The case assessment is designed to help determine whether our services are appropriate and how a matter should be approached.


During this initial review, we consider:


  • The nature of the issue or dispute
  • The stage the matter has reached
  • Any commercial, reputational, or procedural exposure
  • Whether early intervention or containment is appropriate
  • What level of support may be required


This assessment does not involve the provision of legal advice or representation. Its purpose is to clarify the scope, identify the risk, and determine proportionate next steps before any work is undertaken. business enquiries

What the Case Assessment Does Not Do

The initial case assessment is not intended to provide legal advice, legal representation, or advocacy.


It does not involve:


  • The provision of reserved legal services 
  • Detailed legal analysis or opinion
  • Representation in negotiations, tribunals, or proceedings
  • Drafting of legal pleadings or formal submissions


The purpose of the assessment is to clarify the scope, identify exposure, and determine whether and how further support may be appropriate. Any substantive work is agreed separately and only after the assessment is complete.

What Happens After You Submit

Step 1 — Initial Review

We review the information submitted to understand the nature of the issue, its stage, and any apparent commercial, reputational, or procedural exposure. 

Step 2 — Suitability Check

We assess whether the matter falls within the scope of our services and whether an initial assessment would be appropriate. 

Step 3 — Next Steps Confirmation

Where appropriate, we confirm the available options, outline the scope of any proposed assessment, and explain how matters may proceed. 

Step 4 — Referral or Escalation (If Required)

If the matter requires regulated legal services or falls outside our remit, we will indicate this and, where appropriate, suggest escalation alongside regulated solicitor firms.
